MANAGING PARTNER

Chris formed Highland in 2016 with the premise that there was a significant amount of value creation opportunities in the lower middle market. Chris’ career has spanned private equity as well as corporate restructuring and operational roles, giving him a differentiated background as both an investor and an operator. He has spent a number of years in several C-Suite roles in industries such as value-added distribution, logistics, healthcare services, and business services, all of which serve as areas of focus in Highland’s investment strategy. Chris serves on the HACP Investment Committee and sits on the Board of Encore Textiles, Emerald Linen Service, Aerostar Global, Valudor Products, and Cagney Logistics.

Prior to founding Highland, Chris spent several years at Alvarez & Marsal in the Private Equity & Corporate Restructuring Groups, as well as Wynnchurch Capital. Chris started his career at First Chicago Bank in the Capital Markets Group. Chris received his B.A. from Michigan State University.

Peter Lee

PRINCIPAL

Peter is a Principal at HACP, where he is responsible for all aspects of the investment process including sourcing, diligence, and execution of new investments. Peter serves on the HACP Investment Committee.

Prior to joining Highland, Peter was as a Principal at Sun Capital Partners in Los Angeles, where he led and executed numerous investments across various industries. Peter also played a key role in the restart of Sun Capital’s NY office and participated in fundraising efforts through multiple funds. Peter began his career in the investment banking division at Credit Suisse First Boston. Peter received a B.A. in Applied Mathematics with a minor in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.

Kabir ahmed

PRINCIPAL

Kabir is a Principal at HACP, where he is responsible for all aspects of the investment process including sourcing, diligence and execution of new investments. Kabir serves on the HACP Investment Committee and sits on the Board of Valudor Products.

Prior to joining Highland, Kabir was as a Vice President at Evolution Media Capital, the growth equity investment arm of Creative Artists Agency.  Previously, Kabir was an investment professional within the Private Equity Group at Oaktree Capital Management. Kabir began his career in the investment banking division at Goldman Sachs. Kabir received a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.B.A from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Caylan Myronowicz

HEAD OF OPERATING GROUP

Caylan is an Operating Partner with HACP and is responsible for all diligence and post-execution strategy development and implementation. Caylan provides a wealth of operating experience to assist in formulating and proving out investment theses in our lower middle market opportunities. He also serves as a valuable partner to our Management Teams and Executive Operating resources. Caylan has over fourteen years of experience leading Commercial Services businesses and building-related maintenance services businesses. Most recently, Caylan led the growth of a national mechanical services and transportation refrigeration services business. During his leadership, the Company grew organically from approximately 15 locations, 200 employees and $31 million in revenue to 37 locations, 750 employees and over $75 million in revenue while quadrupling EBITDA. Prior to that, he served as Partner and Chief Operating Officer of the Coastline Companies where he led the acquisition, management, capital upgrades, sale, and maintenance services of over 4,000 apartment units valued at over $200 million. Caylan serves on the HACP Investment Committee.
